Enzo Ferrari’s initial idea was not to make road-cars at the inception of his company Scuderia
Ferrari, but purely for racing purposes. However in later times Ferrari was
extremely renowned for their luxury road-going cars such as the 1957 Ferrari GT California – the ultimate ‘go-to’ car for the wealthy society, with its open top roof allowing them
to experience the sunshine while in complete comfort. Other famous names include
the 250 GT, Ferrari Enzo, 458 Italia and its fastest offer yet: the La Ferrari.
Ferrari’s racing division is called Scuderia Ferrari, translating to team Ferrari. In recent time it
races in Formula 1, where its cars are regarded as one of the fastest, if not the fastest,
with the team’s current drivers being Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc. The
team’s history in Formula one has been elusive, participating in every world
chamoionship since 1950 and winning in 15 of them. Along with Formula one, Scuderia has
raced in the 24 hours of Le Mans where they have had a notorious battle with Ford, ultimately leading to the birth of the famous P30, and Ford’s GT40.
The cars have featured in a variety of different films such as the yellow f355 in “The Rock”
(1996)
, James Bond’s “Goldeneye” (1995) and “The hidden” (1987). In the end, Enzo
Ferrari left a remarkable footprint in the ground of racing and luxury, leaving the trail for others
to follow.
